How long does Florida law allow for a breach of contract lawsuit?
Florida allows five years to sue on a written contract and four years on a contract that is not in writing.
Section 95.11, Florida Statutes, sets a five year limit for an action on a contract founded on a written instrument and a four year limit for a contract not founded on a written instrument.
These limits apply to Melbourne businesses and residents the same way they apply anywhere in Florida. Easler Law PLLC's Melbourne office handles contract disputes in Brevard County courts.
