What are the steps for a Titusville Business Tax Receipt?
Titusville asks new businesses to confirm zoning with the Planning Department, secure any state license and register a fictitious name before applying.
The City of Titusville requires a Business Tax Receipt to do business within city limits. The first step is contacting the Planning Department to confirm the location is inside the city and compatible with zoning and land use rules.
Businesses that need a state license must get it before applying for the city receipt. A business operating under any name other than the owner's full legal name must register a fictitious name with the state first.
Once the city receipt is issued, the business applies for a Brevard County Business Tax Receipt. Changes in name, location, ownership or classification require a new application with proof of the change, according to the city's ownership change page.
