Who hears variance requests in Satellite Beach?
The Satellite Beach Board of Adjustment is a quasi judicial board that decides variances and appeals, and its variances stay with the land after a sale.
The Satellite Beach Board of Adjustment is a quasi judicial board with five primary members and two alternates serving three year terms. It hears appeals from decisions of the Building Official on the city's Land Development Regulations in City Code Chapter 30.
The board also decides requests for variances, which are exceptions to certain land development provisions. A variance remains with the property when ownership changes, so it runs with the land.
The board meets as needed on the first Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber, with the Community Development Department as staff.
