Which projects need a building permit in Satellite Beach?
Satellite Beach requires permits for most construction, replacement and installation work, from roofs and A/C changeouts to fences, docks and seawalls.
According to the Satellite Beach permit information page, most construction, installation or replacement work requires a permit. The list includes additions, sheds, decks and docks, roofing, windows, doors and shutters, generators and EV chargers.
Water heaters, A/C changeouts, pools, fences, driveways and seawall work also need permits. Cosmetic work such as paint, flooring or cabinets that does not move plumbing or electrical may not need one, but the city asks owners to check first.
Applications, plan uploads, fees and inspections are handled online through the city's BS&A portal. The Community Development Department is at 1390 S. Patrick Drive.
