Can a Satellite Beach code complaint be filed anonymously?
Since July 1, 2021, Satellite Beach does not act on anonymous code complaints except for imminent threats to health, safety or sensitive resources.
Beginning July 1, 2021, the City of Satellite Beach may no longer start code enforcement action from anonymous complaints. The rule applies to complaints made online, in person, by phone, mail or email.
Under section 162.06, Florida Statutes, a person reporting a potential violation must give a name and address before enforcement can proceed. Anonymous complaints are still allowed when a violation presents an imminent threat to public health, safety or welfare, or the imminent destruction of habitat or sensitive resources.
Complaints are submitted on the city's Code Enforcement Complaint Form, and imminent threat reports go to the Community Development Department.
