How much is the Satellite Beach business tax, and how is it obtained?
Satellite Beach charges a flat local business tax set by city code, with a reduced amount for businesses that open in the second half of the tax year.
Satellite Beach requires a Business Tax Receipt to do business within city limits. Applicants first confirm with the Community Development Department that the location is inside the city, then choose a home or commercial application signed by an owner, partner or officer.
Under City Code Section 58-102, as reprinted on the city's page in October 2026, a business with a permanent location in the city pays $70.00. A new business that opens between April 1 and September 30 pays $35.00, and each vending or amusement machine adds $25.00.
Any required state license must be obtained before applying. A county receipt from the Brevard County Tax Collector is also required.
