Who decides variance requests in Rockledge?
Rockledge variance requests go to a seven member Board of Adjustment, which also decides special exceptions and appeals from zoning decisions by city staff.
The Rockledge Board of Adjustment has seven members and two alternates appointed by the City Council, with members serving three year terms. It meets at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday in the Council Chamber at City Hall, when needed.
The board hears and decides variance requests and special exceptions. It also hears appeals claiming an error in an order, requirement or decision made by an administrative official enforcing the zoning ordinance.
Applications for variances, special exceptions and rezonings are processed by the city's Planning Division.
