Is the Palm Bay Bayfront CRA still active?
Palm Bay's Bayfront Community Redevelopment Agency reached its sunset date in May 2024, so it no longer operates as an active redevelopment agency.
According to the City of Palm Bay's Bayfront CRA page, the Bayfront Community Redevelopment Agency sunset on May 4, 2024. The city then published an annual report for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024, under section 163.371, Florida Statutes.
Community redevelopment agencies are funded through a redevelopment trust fund that receives tax increment, the growth in property tax revenue inside the district, under section 163.387. With the Bayfront agency closed, any grant or incentive once tied to it should be confirmed with the city before a business or buyer relies on it.
