After a reverse mortgage borrower dies, their “heirs” may have rights. Heirs are people with legal rights to the property of another after that person's death, such as a husband, wife, children, and people's names in estate planning documents.
A reverse mortgage is still a mortgage loan and must be paid in full to avoid foreclosure.
